NEW MEMBERS GUIDE

Finding your personal path in the Light.

Your search for deeper meaning and authentic community has led you here, and we welcome you as you are. At Matinecock Quaker Meeting, we believe there is "that of God in everyone" and that the Light speaks uniquely through each person's experience and background.

Since 1725, seekers have gathered in our historic Meeting House to discover what early Quakers called "the Inward Light"—that direct, unmediated experience of the Divine that guides us into lives of integrity, simplicity, and compassion.

Most of us were not raised as Quakers but found our way here as adults or adolescents.

So, whether you're spiritually curious, searching for genuine community, or drawn to Quaker values, this guide will help you understand what to expect when visiting our meeting and the distinctive Quaker practices you'll encounter.
